About Paxton
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little bit!
I’m a Marketing Communications Specialist, Published Writer, Educator and Designer. You may know me for my pioneering efforts as the Co-Founder and former Co-Host of the acclaimed iYellow Wine Club.
I hold a Communications degree with Distinction from Brock University. In my final year at university I was the President and Co-Founder of the Communications, Popular Culture and Film (CPCF) Society. The CPCF Society won ‘Club of the Year’ and I also won an award for ‘Outstanding Contribution to Business Communication’ at the Faculty of Business awards. The club is still running strong and I enjoy advising the current club President.
In early 2006 – just a year after graduation – I teamed up with fellow wine enthusiast Angela Aiello and Co-Founded the acclaimed iYellow Wine Club – Toronto’s hottest social wine club. Ange and I created and hosted numerous innovative wine events, wine tours, and educational wine tastings and helped “bring wine into the 21st century” according to Post City Magazines.
Notably we – “Ange & Pax” – Hosted the prestigious 2008 Ontario Wine Awards. We produced and hosted video podcasts for the Wine Council of Ontario. We published monthly wine club e-newsletters, were published writers in City Bites Magazine – Toronto’s Guide to Great Food and Drink, and we were also wine columnists for Sweethome.ca – an extension of Sweetspot.ca – Canada’s Sweetest Lifestyle Guide. We also co-developed Peller Estates’ unique ‘Extreme Wine Weekend’ and ‘Intense Icewine Weekend’ program.
Due to our pioneering efforts and success in the wine industry, we were fortunate to have appeared in numerous media outlets such as the Toronto Star, Canada AM, Global TV, 99.9 Virgin Radio and CBC’s ‘Wine Confidential’ documentary. The iYellow Wine Club now boasts 5,000+ members and continues to lead the wine revolution.
Other notable work experience includes: Working as a Promotions Coordinator for the Anguilla (British West Indies) Tourist Board of Canada. Working as a Teacher’s Assistant in the Faculty of Social Sciences at Brock University. Conducting double-decker city tours for Toronto’s Bus & Boat Company. I’ve also designed online workshops for Travel Agents for YourWorkshops.ca – clients included the likes of GAP Adventures, Virginia, Sandals and more.
I was a Continuing Education Instructor at Brock University throughout 2010, where I lead Blog/Website Design Courses. In January 2012, I wrapped up 2 1/2 years as a Marketing Communications Associate at the Niagara Economic Development Corporation (NEDC). Major ‘Team Lead’ projects included a new Tourism Niagara website, the Niagara Original Brand Program and the Niagara Social Project.
When time permits, I offer Website Design and Communications Consulting for select individuals and small businesses. I’m also available to book for Speaking, Hosting and Educational engagements.
I was born and raised in Ottawa, finished my high school education in Kelowna, B.C. and 1st year university. I then completed my university education in Niagara. I also spent time in Quebec and Germany for additional schooling. I spent about four years living in Toronto, but I now live in St. Catharines, Niagara, Canada.
